Watching...

                                              Standing Idly by
I'll never forget the time when the Coco's Fire started in San Marcos a couple of months ago. I was sitting on my couch, watching the news about all the other fires that were going on, not really giving it a second thought. I glance out our back yard screen door because I catch a glimpse of something gray and large on the mountain where the fire was. All of the sudden, little blobs of orange and yellow light catch my eye on the hillside. I ran up to the door and watched as the fire was growing and growing. That night, I went to my dad's house, still seeing the black smoke fume into the orange glow that was taking over the night sky. I remember worrying about my friends that lived back there and their animals that they owned. Thinking about all of the homes being destroyed and the poor fire fighters fighting something that can barely be controlled for days. That night, I sat on my dad's porch, facing the hillside, watching it idly burn. In the moment I didn't think about this, but later on I realized, I only live about 2-3 miles away from that hill and I'm sitting on my porch watching houses torch. But in the moment, I just stood there, standing Idly by...

A Weekend Out at Barona

                               Saturday out at Barona
Yesterday I had so much fun photographing these 4 guys, doing what they love out at Barona. They are so talented and I feel so lucky to be given the opportunity to take some many photos of these riders. Even though it's intimidating to go up to some random stranger and ask if you can take pictures of them, it's so worth it in the long run to be able to see how much they enjoy your photos.

My True Home

                                     My Secret Life
I have always had a special connection to the ocean, ever since I can remember. I love the way the water flows, how it's constantly in motion, no matter what time or what weather. I love how there can be amazing things that live and breath water. I know for a fact that no matter what happens in my life, I will always have God and the Ocean. Whenever I am stressing or need a place to escape, I always come back to my one true home, where I feel most comfortable, the Ocean. I will always have a special place in my heart for big o'l blue...

Weekend out at Barona

                                                 Out at Barona
While out at Barona last weekend, I was able to kapture some great photos of some great guys. One of the guys, Tristan Miller, is probably one of the best riders I have seen in awhile, along with Tristan Bank.  As I was asking them if I could photograph them the next time they went out, I saw a guy, Sean Fogle, go over one of the jumps with his legs in the air and him holding onto his handle bars. As soon as he got off and went to his car, I dashed over and asked if I could photograph him. Amazingly enough he said yes and I got some sick shots of everyone. Here are some kaptured...

Lake Elsinore

                                     Lake Elsinore
A couple of days ago, I photographed at a place I haven't photographed yet, Lake Elsinore, which is a track out by Murrieta. Out there I had the pleasure of photographing two great riders. Besides the blistering heat out there, the track that I photographed on was probably to biggest track I have been on so far. Although even though it was big, there were many spots to get great photos of these two amazing riders. Here are some kaptured photos...

Dude

                                             My Biggest Supporter
Dude, my brother, has been my biggest supporter of my photography since day one. I started out photographing him riding and his friends and that's how I became so passionate about sports photography and so many other forms of photography. He is always asking me to kapture some photos of him riding or doing a cool trick on his mountain bike. Out of everyone I know, he is probably to one that understands the most that a job that is so dependable on how talented you are, can be so under-supported by so many important people in your life, but we both have had to learn how to only focus on the positive support. Thanks little brother...

Oldie, but a goodie

                                                          Jeff...
When I went out to Milestone last Monday, I saw this rider, 111, doing really well and riding better than some of the other guys on the main track. I go up to ask him if I can take some photos of him, expecting him to be in his 20's and as I come closer to him, I can see the wrinkles underneath his goggles and helmet. This dude is like 50-60 years old. I was in shock. He had been riding non-stop for over an hour. When one track was closed for watering, he would go to the next one and so forth. As I was talking to him, I couldn't believe how old he was. Unfortunetly when I asked for his email, he gave me one that doesn't exist, so I couldn't send his photos to him, but here's to Jeff, the oldest, coolest rider I had the pleasure of photographing.

Vet Rider: Todd Freistat

                                             Number 1 Vet Rider...
In the motocross world, there is an amateur racer, intermediate, pro and then comes the vet riders. These are the ex pros or the older riders of the motocross world. One of the best vet riders, in my opinion, is Todd Freistat. He is so passionate and loves motocross and hates it at the same time. The glow that comes over his face when he hops on his bike is full of liveliness and excitement.

Barona with the Gang

                                               Weekend Rides...
I love going to the track with these guys because they are so relaxed and just want to try their best to ride their best. I also started out photographing these two the most when I was first photographing motocross. They helped me grow and learn new things about how and when to take amazing photos. This father and son have many things in common, but one that stands out the most, is their passion for motocross. It is always a pleasure kapturing some photos of them doing what they love...

Entering into the Motocross World

                                   Being a Motocross Photographer...
Being a photographer is one thing, but being a motocross photographer is another. I love doing all sorts of photography, but sports, specifically motocross, is my favorite. When I first started to take pictures, I just took them of my brother and his friends, no seriousness behind them. Then when I started to consider photography as my job, somehow these same pictures that I was taking before, had a different meaning. They held the future hope of my career, my passion, and my creativity. Since I naturally shy when I meet new people, going up to talk to them and ask them if I can photograph them is nerve racking, but once I did, each time became easier and easier. Thank you to all of those who have supported me in my journey and encouraged me to keep doing what I love...

Milestone

                                                A Day at Milestone
I went to Milestone a couple days ago with my brother. At first when we got there, there was no one there and it was over 100 degrees. I thought that I was only going to be photographing my brother. Then once 5 o'clock hit, a bunch of riders that were coming off of work came in. I photographed 6 riders that day. Here are some kaptured photos...

Best Friends

                                                    Corrie Black
Yesterday I was hanging out with my best friend, Corrie, and she said, "Could you do a photoshoot of me in Elfin Forest?" Of course I said yes and we headed down there. We had a great photoshoot and the photos turned out great. From day one Corrie has supported me through all my new adventures and all the hard times in my life. She supported and encouraged me when I decided to become a Christian a little over a year ago and so on from there. She is gorgeous inside and out and I don't even want to imagine my life without her. Thank you Corrie, for being my one, true, best friend...

Barona MX

                                Expanding my horizons
As I was taking pictures of my brother out on the track today out at Barona, I realized that if I wanted to make my name known in the motocross photography world, I couldn't just photograph my brother and his friends for the rest of my life. I decided to start watching the other riders on the track and then ask them after they came off, if the next time they went for another ride, I could take some photos of them. With my heart racing, I went up to go ask two guys, Brian and Anthony, if I could kapture some pictures of them. They agreed, happily, and went out the second time not only taking photos of my brother, but two other riders. With the help of my friends and family, I have been able to push past my shy side and realize that this job I want to pursue takes guts and courage...

4th of July...

                                                  Summer Fun
I remember when I was a kid and always looking forward to watching the fireworks... the boom in my ears, the pound in my heart always gave me a rush. This picture is probably one of my favorites because these two boys were just chatting away and so full of energy, it reminded me of myself when I was that young. I also see the spirit of what someone on Fourth of July should feel like... Free.

                                                 My First Post...
I have always had a passion for photography. I love being able to kapture something that is rarely seen by the naked eye. The quote, "a picture can hold a thousand words" is something that I believe is the honest truth. My blog is going to be about my photography journey that I am taking and I hope you all will join in with me!
